Brief updates from the basic services
- IAM4NFDI
- The next Incubator project is completed: Come2Data has successfully implemented an ORCID login.
- Meet the service team at UC4B at their poster: “Community-driven access portfolio — about the Benefits of Virtual Organisation Management”.
- TS4NFDI
- No news at the moment.
- PID4NFDI
- On September 16, PID4NFDI participated alongside partner organisations in the information event on the national PID Roadmap for Germany hosted by PID Network Deutschland. They provided insights into PID4NFDI’s vision for developing a sustainable, interconnected PID landscape—a goal supported by the close partnership and regular exchange between our two DFG-funded projects.
- The PID4NFDI team will be present at the UC4B with a poster on the basic service outputs, and we look forward to connecting with you.
- The results of the PID4NFDI User study are now published on Zenodo.
- A new guidance document "Registering IGSN IDs: Adding Persistent Identifiers to Your Samples, Specimens, and Other Physical Objects" was published on Zenodo.
- KGI4NFDI
- The service team kicked off the integration phase in September. A Kick-Off Meeting with the Base4NFDI team will be conducted at the end of October.
- DMP4NFDI
- A new NFDI DMP Services overview is displayed on their website.
- The next incubator call will open on 26 October. Check out their Incubator Dashboard. In conjunction with it, a DMP4NFDI Service Roadshow will take place on 27 October at 11 am, with presentations of current and past incubator projects. Register here.
- The team has published their Concept for outreach support describing support for consortia in reaching their community regarding DMP topics.
- Jupyter4NFDI
- The service has successful concluded their first phase incubators. Eight incubator projects now make use of Jupyter4NFDI in various ways. The team is currently preparing a summary of these.
- Example outcomes of first incubator phase: Training using Jupyter4NFDI: Digital Humanities Python course (outcome from working with the incubator supported by “Digital Humanities Ruhr@UDE4” (Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre, funding programme “Freiraum 2023”) and the Interactive tutorial for the Heat library powered by de.NBI Cloud.
- The second phase of incubator projects has started. Three new incubator projects are currently ongoing.
- RDMTraining4NFDI
- The service team kicked off the integration phase in September. A Kick-Off Meeting with the Base4NFDI team was conducted on October 2.
- A stakeholder meeting is scheduled for 20th November 2027. This meeting will mark the launch of the Micro-Credentialing pilot phase. During this phase, RDMTraining4NFDI will work with six use cases to gain practical experience and identify and reduce barriers to the acceptance of a credentialing process.
- RDMTraining4NFDI will also attend the Base4NFDI User Conference 2026 in Berlin. You can meet the team at their poster to exchange ideas, discuss the service, and get your questions answered.
