Funding - How much is funded per phase each year?

Update Base4NFDI Funding

Due to the limited funding availability: Until further notice, no new proposals can be submitted to Base4NFDI. Projects that, as of April 2026, are funded in their initialisation or integration phases may submit a proposal for the next phase, depending on the successful completion of their current phase. Priority will be given to the progress of current integration projects into their ramp-up-phases.

Base4NFDI is currently preparing ways to support new basic-services candidates. It will be based on a flexible approach to our current deliverables. Details will be published by the end of June 2026.

According to the decision of the NFDI Consortia Assembly on 16 Jan 2026 the following topped-up rates per phase are effective for the remaining project:

Rates

  • Initialisation phase (1 year): 2 PostDoc, 1 Researcher - max. 258.000€ per year
  • Integration phase (2 years): 3 PostDoc, 3 Researcher - max. 509.400€ per year, for 2 years 1.018.800 €
  • Ramp-Up phase (2 years): 4 PostDoc - max. 352.800€ per year, for 2 years 705.600 €
